About Us

Who we are and what this site is — five questions that set the record straight.

1. What is Zhao Wellness?

Zhao Wellness is the English-language home of a family wellness tradition now in its fourth generation. Our founder, Junping Zhao, grew up in a Chinese medicine family, has practiced in clinical settings for over 40 years, and combines classical Eastern practice with modern Western standards.

We publish practical guides (food therapy, qigong, foot soaks, sleep habits), sell a small line of herbal self-care packs, and teach a video course on traditional Chinese wellness for dogs and cats.

2. Are you a medical service? Do you treat patients online?

No. Everything on this site is wellness education, shared for informational purposes. We do not diagnose conditions, prescribe remedies, or promise cures — for people or pets.

If you are ill, see a physician. If your pet is ill, see a licensed veterinarian. Our content sits alongside professional care, never in place of it.

3. Who writes the content?

The core material comes from Junping Zhao's four decades of clinical and family practice. Articles are written in plain English for readers with zero background in Chinese wellness — no jargon without explanation, no mysticism.

Family formulas that are part of the practice's lineage are not published in full. Where a recipe idea is shared, we explain the reasoning so you can work with standard, widely available ingredients.

4. Do I need any special equipment or ingredients to follow along?

No. Every guide is designed around ordinary kitchens and bathrooms — a pot with a lid, a basin, a towel. When an ingredient is hard to find in Western supermarkets, the article lists a substitute (Bosc pears for Asian pears, sweet potato for Chinese yam, and so on).

5. I'm a complete beginner. Where should I start?

Start with the free 7-Day Guide — one simple habit each morning for a week. Then pick the deep-dive that matches your situation:

You can also take the free wellness assessment for a personalized starting point.

Payment & Checkout

How payment works across our site, Payhip, Udemy, and Amazon.

6. What payment methods do you accept?

It depends where you check out:

  • Herbal packs (bath, foot soak, sachet): ordered by email, paid securely through Payhip & PayPal. PayPal accepts major credit and debit cards even without a PayPal account.
  • Udemy course: checkout is handled entirely by Udemy (cards, PayPal, and other local options depending on your country).
  • Kindle books: checkout is handled entirely by Amazon.
7. Is my payment information safe?

Yes. Card details are processed by the payment platform (Payhip/PayPal, Udemy, or Amazon) — we never see or store your card number. Every platform uses standard encrypted checkout.

8. Do I need to create an account on this website?

No. This site has no login system. The free 7-Day Guide is delivered by email when you request it; herbal pack orders are handled by email; courses and books live on their own platforms (Udemy, Amazon).

9. How do I use the $12.99 course coupon?

Our TCM for Dogs & Cats course normally lists at $49.99. With coupon code ZHAOPET it is $12.99. To use it:

  1. Open the course page via any "Online Course" link on this site (the coupon is already applied in the link).
  2. If the discount isn't showing, enter ZHAOPET in the "Coupon code" box on Udemy's checkout page and click Apply.
  3. The current code is valid through October 13, 2026.

Herbal Packs & Shipping

What's in the packs, and how a physical order works.

10. What exactly is in each herbal pack?

Full ingredients are listed on each product page — no "proprietary blend" games:

  • Herbal Bath Pack: mugwort, rose, lavender — for a warm evening bath infusion.
  • Herbal Foot Soak Pack: mugwort leaf, ginger, safflower — for a pre-sleep foot soak.
  • Solar-Term Herbal Sachet: clove, mint, tangerine peel — a naturally scented sachet for bedroom, study, or car.

They are sensory self-care products for relaxation — not medicine, not supplements, and not meant to treat any condition.

11. Do you ship internationally? How do I order a pack?

Herbal packs are ordered by email so we can confirm availability, shipping cost, and timing for your country before you pay anything:

  1. Email [email protected] with the pack you want and your country.
  2. We reply with the total price including shipping and the Payhip/PayPal payment link.
  3. Payment confirmed → your pack ships, and you get a tracking note by email.

12. How should I store the herbal packs, and how long do they last?

Keep them sealed, dry, and out of direct sunlight. Under those conditions the bath and foot soak packs keep their aroma for months — if the scent has faded, the herbs are past their best and should be replaced. Sachets stay fresh roughly 4–6 weeks in open air; you can revive them briefly (see the sachet guide) before replacing.

Refunds & Support

What happens if something goes wrong — by platform.

13. What is your refund policy?

In short:

  • Digital products bought through us: 7-day satisfaction guarantee — email us within 7 days for a full refund, no interrogation.
  • Herbal packs (physical): 30-day window from delivery; contact us first so we can arrange it.
  • Udemy course: Udemy's own 30-day refund policy applies — request it from your Udemy account.
  • Kindle books: Amazon handles refunds per its own policy.

Full details: Refund Policy.

14. I requested the free 7-Day Guide but the email never arrived.

Three steps, in order:

  1. Check your spam/junk folder — automated emails land there more than they should.
  2. Search your inbox for "Zhao Wellness" or "7-Day".
  3. Still nothing? Email us from the same address you used, and we'll send it again: [email protected].
15. My Kindle book won't download / shows the wrong price.

Kindle delivery, device sync, and pricing are all controlled by Amazon — the fastest fixes are Amazon's own "Deliver to device" button on your content page, or syncing your Kindle app. If money was charged incorrectly, contact Amazon support; they resolve it directly.

16. I have a problem with the Udemy course (video, coupon, refund).

Udemy accounts, playback, coupons, and refunds are managed inside Udemy — use their help center or the course Q&A. For anything about the course content itself (a question about a lesson, a case you want explained), message us anytime and we'll answer personally.

Content & Usage

What you can do with our materials, and where the line is.

17. Can I share the guides or course with friends and family?

Materials are licensed for personal use. Please don't forward, resell, or upload the files — if someone would enjoy this, send them the site link instead. It keeps a small family operation alive, and they'll get the latest version directly.

18. Are these practices safe for everyone?

The routines we publish are gentle by design — but "gentle" is not "safe for every situation." Skip or modify with professional guidance if you are pregnant, recovering from surgery, managing a chronic condition, or on blood-thinning medication (relevant for some herbal soaks).

For pets: acupressure and gentle bodywork are support measures. Any illness, injury, or sudden behavior change goes to a licensed veterinarian first.

19. Will you diagnose my symptoms if I describe them in an email?

No — and you should be suspicious of anyone who does from a distance. We read every email and happily explain concepts, suggest which guide to read, or point you toward appropriate professional care. What we won't do is name your condition or prescribe a remedy, because that's the job of a professional who can actually examine you.

20. How do I join the Telegram channel?

Our channel Eastern Wellness posts one practical tip every day — seasonal habits, food notes, and small rituals, in English, free:

Tip: turn on channel notifications if you want the daily tip at a consistent time; otherwise just browse whenever you like.
